Skegness Community Grants Fund Opens For Applications

Community-led activities in Skegness could benefit from a funding boost as a significant new £100,000 grant pot is launched for the town.

The Together for Skegness Stronger Communities Fund has been announced by Skegness Neighbourhood Board and aims to focus Pride in Place funding on grassroots activities and community ideas that benefit local people.

Managed by Lincolnshire Community Foundation, the fund is offering grants of £500–£10,000 for applications that respond to local needs and opportunities, deliver visible improvements, and strengthen local pride.

Crucially, all applications must fit with one or more of the following themes that reflect community priorities identified through community engagement:

• Pride, culture and aspiration
• Education, skills and opportunity
• Wellbeing, inclusion and community resilience
• Safe and welcoming neighbourhoods
• Community assets, environment and green spaces
• A vibrant and connected town centre.

The funding can be used for a range of costs such as activities, events, services, equipment and improvements to community facilities or spaces.

A separate Community Chest has also been announced which will provide grants of up to £300 to individuals and non-constituted groups, subject to criteria.

There are three rounds of funding planned, with 1st December 2026 the deadline for the first round. Subject to funds, further rounds will run with application deadlines of 1st March 2027 and 1st June 2027. The substantial grant pot comes after Skegness Neighbourhood Board recently made its first funding awards in the town, with around £1.2million announced for five projects that fit with community priorities. These awards followed an open call for projects in 2025.

Paul McCooey, Chair, Skegness Neighbourhood Board said: “The community is at the very heart of our Pride in Place programme in Skegness and we want to ensure that the funding benefits people right across the town.

“Through the Together for Skegness Stronger Communities Fund, we have a fantastic opportunity to direct investment into activities that make a real difference to people’s lives.

“The scheme is designed to help Pride in Place funding reach more people, and ultimately will make a meaningful and long-lasting impact within the community.

“The Board is absolutely committed to working together for Skegness, and this community fund is one way in which we are doing just that.”

Applications will be assessed by a panel which will include local residents, and Lincolnshire Community Foundation will be on hand to support applicants through the process.

Sue Fortune, Chief Executive of Lincolnshire Community Foundation said: “The Together for Skegness Stronger Communities Fund is an exciting scheme that will allow Skegness Neighbourhood Board to focus funding where it is needed and where it can make a difference in the town.

“It has been set up to be inclusive and accessible, and the range of activities and ideas the fund can support is broad. But what is key is that applications must fit with at least one of the themes that reflect local people’s feedback.

“The application process is easy, and my team is on hand to offer support at every stage.

“I would strongly urge people to please do get your applications in and don’t miss out on the chance to benefit from this funding.”

All applicants will be notified of decisions within six weeks of the closing date, and funding awards will be announced by the Board in due course.
